New Leaders Workshops Coming!

UUP is holding a New Leaders Conference Oct. 26 and 27 at the Gideon Putnam in Saratoga Springs. Workshops include the Taylor Law, Chapter Development, Grievance and Effective Meetings. Executive Committee meeting

The Executive Committee of the Potsdam UUP Chapter will be holding an
executive committee meeting on September 21, 2007, from 12:00-1:00PM
in a section of the upstairs room at Thatcher Hall. Seating is fairly
limited, but meetings are open to the membership. The agenda is

Grants and leaves and contracts, OH MY

Sent via email this morning, from Laura Rhoads, our chapter president:

I would like to remind the membership that the grant programs funded under Labor-Management, such as the Affirmative Action/Drescher Leave and Individual Professional Development Awards, are not in effect as we are currently without a contract. When we ratify a new contract, we are quite hopeful that new grant programs will be in place. In the meanwhile, save all receipts from any conferences, workshops, or other professional activities because the programs will probably be retroactive as they were in the last contract and a member can apply for something already completed.

On the subject of receipts, don’t forget that the Potsdam UUP Chapter will reimburse you up to $30.00 if you take a defensive driving course. Please provide your receipt to the UUP Office and we will process your refund. This is a great opportunity to reduce your auto insurance rates and get some cash back from UUP. Course offerings and prices vary, so check with the DMV and local newspapers for times and locations.
